“E-mail and Calligraphy -Honey Filter-“
The Techniques
This is a brush and ink performance
where I turn e-mailed phrases into calligraphic artworks.
The arriving e-mails will be shared with the audience using a projector.
I have sent four photos to my four cooperators beforehand, and
they are to come up with some phrases inspired by them.
The picture(s) they selected as their theme will be specified in the mail as well,
so that we can share the same idea with the audience.
As I receive the e-mails, I will write the typed phrases right at the spot.
If no e-mails arrive, I won’t be writing anything.
Seriously (FYI, there won’t be any artworks in the gallery on the first day).
On Saturday the 12th and Sunday the 13th,
three of my four cooperators; Masayuki Suzuki, Keisuke Sunaga, and Kohei Tabata,
will arrive to the exhibition space.
Here, we are planning on a collaborative
performance of language expression and Japanese calligraphy.
Also on Tuesday, July 8th, a collaborative
live concert with “Tokyo Guerrilla” will take place.
“Tokyo Guerrilla” is a clown white,
subcultural, new-wave movement, and their
compilation album will be on sale the next day.
I’m one of the artists working with them,
and the inscription of the band names and the CD cover are written by me.
